Applications
Zinc chloride is used as a soldering flux, catalyst, dehydrating and condensing agent, battery electrolyte, and metal etchant. It is used as a glazing flux in glassblowing and in glass etching, mordant in dyeing and printing, sizing and weighting fabrics, mercerizing cotton, and carbonizing woolen products. It is utilized in conserving anatomical samples, embalming products, wood preservative and deodorants. It is also employed in organic synthesis.
