Applications
Methyl salicylate USP is mainly used as a rubefacient and analgesic in deep heating liniments (such as Bengay) to treat joint and muscular pain. Its used in the pharmaceutical and personal care and cosmetics industries as an antiseptic and local anesthetic. Its also used as a denaturant, and fragrance additive. This product has been tested and meets the standards set by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for purity and quality.

Solubility in 70% alcohol: Soluble, with solution having not more than a slight cloudiness
