Linear Alkybenzene Sulfonic Acid (sometimes referred to as Dodecylbenzene Sulfonic Acid or DDBSA) is a light yellow to dark brown colored liquid. LABSA is widely used in household products like detergents, shampoos, and hair conditioners, as well as in numerous industrial applications like as a catalyst for the esterification of fatty acids to produce biodiesel, and also for the synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives. LABSA is also used as a dopant for conducting polymers, a wetting agent, a dispersant, a foamer, a paraffin inhibitor, acidizing agent and an emulsion breaker.
