Applications
DDBSA, also known as Dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid or LABSA, is a light yellow to dark brown colored liquid. DDBSA is widely used in household products like detergents, shampoos, and hair conditioners, as well as in numerous industrial applications like as a catalyst for the esterification of fatty acids to produce biodiesel, and also for the synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives. DDBSA is also used as a dopant for conducting polymers, a wetting agent, a dispersant, a foamer, a paraffin inhibitor, acidizing agent and an emulsion breaker.
