Applications
Carboxymethyl chitosan is a higher derivative of chitosan obtained by reacting chitin with chloroacetic acid under basic conditions. Compared with chitin, its physical and chemical properties are optimized, with 100% water solubility, film formation and strong heavy metal chelation. This neutral, pure natural and completely non-toxic product has shown superior characteristics in the fields of medical care, pharmaceutical industry and agriculture. At present, it has been applied in many aspects such as advanced cosmetic additives, heavy metal chelating agents, drug sustained release agents and plant growth agents.
